ASIA TRIP 2024 – CHINA – JULY 20
On this day I spent some time trying to document the changes that I saw since the last time I visited. I tried to plan walks outside so that I didn’t have to take multiple showers a day or have to be a sweaty stinking mess for longer than I needed to be. In this case, it meant that I didn’t go out until the evening. There wasn’t as much activity as there was in the past in the area we stayed in. I do think some of that was simply due to the heat and humidity.
AI “art” is becoming more prevalent in 2024, however I think this is the first time I’ve seen it printed.
A hotel that I stayed in nearly 20 years ago is no longer open. I’m not sure how longs it’s been closed, but it’s sad for me to see these changes. The gradual decay of the structure almost seems to contribute to the decay of my memories, replacing the images in my mind. I remember a new building that was not necessarily bustling with activity, but doing well nonetheless. And now these new images seem to make the old ones fade and I’m left with memories of this.
These e-bikes are new since the last time I visited in 2018.
There were several dogs in the area that seemed to be stray.
I wanted to pet the tiny dog, but I saw several other dogs with fleas and didn’t want them on me so I kept my distance. He looked like he wanted food and not pets anyway.
These deliver guys were all over the place. Especially in the evening when it seemed to be prime time. You can see the battery pack in his pocket to keep his phone charged.
The thing that amazed me the most is how they wore the long sleeves and long pants in the heat and humidity.
If only they gave the dragon a spoon full of rice.
Before I even saw this place I heard it from quite a ways away. Even over the noise of traffic, horns, and all the shops with their loud sound systems placed outside the entrances.
They’re somewhat obscured, however, if you look to the right of the frame on the stage you’ll see all the musicians playing their instruments.
